“It seems like my timeline simply stopped,”

I remember we were walking through the coastal road. The ocean waves were pounding constantly against the gravel, the summer breeze caressed our sun-burnt cheeks, the salty air in my lungs, I can remember each detail of it clearly.

“I can’t see anything, I don’t even know how to feel anymore,” he continued. Both of our bodies were mingling with sweat and we were struggling to catch our own breath, but he didn’t stop, so neither do I.

“I kept losing everything,” We had reached the top of the cliff when he suddenly stopped. His plump lips curved into a slight smile. His name slipped away from my lips in the slightest way possible. He didn’t hear me, I thought to myself. Amidst the roaring ocean tide, he wouldn't be able to. So I tried to catch his fingers. But at that exact moment, I can’t reach him. He was standing right after me, but why does it feel like he’s drifting away?

Look me in the eye,” I said. Stronger this time. There’s a tangible urgency within my voice. But he turned his face to the ocean. His eyebrows were slightly grimacing at the sunlight, gently shaking his fine soft hair.

“I can’t remember anything,”

"I can't even remember what I used to fight for,"

He cast a long gaze upon my eyes, carving the most unpredictable smile I have ever witnessed in my entire life.

For a fleeting second, the whole world seems to be painted in grayscale. I can see each color spectrum in the scenery slowly fading. In the midst of my intoxication, I was momentarily unable to come to my senses. It was then when I realized that I could not hear his voice anymore. His frail figure was nowhere to be seen.

“I'm sorry love, I'm beyond messed up."

I was the one who saw him jumped that day.

failed to see through his eyes and noticed what I should have. I watch as his thin body crashed against the gravel. I thought it was some kind of a joke. But when the sun started to dip down to the sea, A breathtakingly beautiful sunset falls down. All I can see was purple, crashed down on everything, I was painted with purple, I was covered with him.
