“You
radiate soft blue,”
Admiring the
harmonious choir of raindrops, two souls walk down the pavement. Wandering
through a quiet suburb. They breathed into the pouring water as it dampened
their coat. Despite the fact that there's only a thin layer of cloud in the sky, the
sun was nowhere to be seen on this fine evening.
“Maybe that’s the reason why you love to glance upon the sky so much huh?” the boy laughed.
The world was essentially painted in ethereal gray, being a part of such vivid scene, they couldn't help but admire everything in silence. Both of their heart rates beat at a random pace, and they drag their foot as slow as they can.
“Yeah, mostly,”
Aimlessly, another block has passed. Far far away from the downtown, to a hood that somehow keeps reminding them of their childhood house.
“There are so many reasons you know,” the girl continues. She was holding a pair of umbrellas but the boy refuses to use them so she just hangs them beneath her slender fingers, feeling the droplets wildly smashing against her face.
“But yeah, you are one of them,”
She cast a flashy smile, trying her best to avoid eye contact with him. She knew that it will only end up as another series of blushing and awkwardness.
“Whenever I looked up the sky, I just felt, like,”
“Mhm?”
“Unbelievably safe?”
The boy stops, and now they’re standing face to face. Their silence was disrupted by the sound of the neighborhood boys, laughing and each sprinting under their umbrellas. Their cheery giggles brought them to those old times. Where the sun never sets, and the night was filled with fireworks. Where everything seems to be possible; when there’s nothing to be afraid of.
“The same feelings of being beside you?”
